Matariki Stars

We've been doing lots of learning about Matariki, but by far the most fun activity has to have been making salt dough stars with Mrs O'connell.

Bubble Trouble

The Sly Fox

The sly fox has been in a few of the fairy tales we have read - The Gingerbread Man, The Red Hen and Sly Fox and  in Chicken Licken.

We learnt a little bit about foxes and then made these paper craft foxes.

The King's Cake

This week our shared story was The King's Cake. The King had a birthday cake with 46 candles. He huffed and he puffed and he waggled his head but he could not blow the candles out. The Queen tried and she could not blow the candles out. The Cook tried and she could not blow the candles out. In the end the Gardener squirted the candles with his garden hose. The candle went out but the cake had turned into soup!

The King huffed and puffed and waggled his head.

Junior

The King have a cake for his birthday. The problem is everyone can't blow the candles out. The gardener came running in the castle and the cook said "the candles will not go out." Then the King can't eat his cake because the gardener came with his garden hose. He squirted and squirted the cake. The cake was soup.

PJ

The King had a cake and the gardener watered the king's cake. "Why you water my cake?" said the King. The King was so angry.

The King said "this is not cake this is soup!" 

The King was mad.

Jaye-Leon

The King had a cake for his birthday except there was one teeny problem and that is the 46 candles wouldn't go out. The gardener watered the cake.

Michael

The Queen didn' have too much breath. The cook said "you don't got too much breath. I will blow the candles."

Que-Ray

The Queen had not enough puff and her face went red.

Antwon

The cook baked the King a cake for the king's birthday. There was 46 candles. The King couldn't blow his cake. The Queen said "stop you don't have enough puff."

Kashly 

The Queen said "Stop.You have no breath."

The Queen said "I will blow the candles." She blew the candles. The candles did not go out. She huffed and puffed and waggled her head.

Phayeton 

Special Feathers

Today we are decorating feathers. These are special feathers, everyone in the school is decorating a feather, to make a kakahu for whaea Mereana, who is sadly leaving us.

Bye Whaea Mereana, we'll miss you!
