We learnt about mosquitoes...

Mosquitoes are an insect – they have 3 body parts and six legs.

Mosquitoes are small.

Mosquitoes have wings.

Mosquitoes have a sucker to suck blood.

Mosquitoes make a buzzing sound.

Mosquitoes lay their eggs in old, dirty water.

Mosquito babies hang upside down I the water.

Mosquitoes bite us. They leave an itchy bump.

First they spit on us so we can’t feel their needle bite us.

Only female Mosquitoes bite us.

Male Mosquitoes drink nectar.

Female Mosquitoes drink nectar and blood.

Mosquitoes spread bugs. In some countries people can die from mosquito bites.

Mrs Dayal brought in some mosquito babies. Room 23 have been watching them change from larvae to pupa to adults. But we are not letting them out of the jar because they might bite us!! (If they are girls!)

Mosquitos spit on your hand and then they bite your hand. They eat nectar but females eat nectar and blood to make eggs.

Baboon's Nest

Our share book was called Baboon's Nest. It was about an eagle who plopped himself into a baboons nest and wouldn't leave. They were fighting day and night and then they were both bare! In the end they decided no more fighting sharing is best!

Here are our stories about who was in the wrong.

Baboon made a nest and I think Eagle is naughty because he plopped in Baboon’s nest.

Baboon said “you shoo!” and Eagle said “no! you shoo!”

Joseph

I think Eagle is bad and Baboon because they are fighting and their feathers came out of the nest.

I think Eagle is bad because he steal the nest.

Tiare

I think Eagle is naughty because he didn’t ask Baboon and all of their feathers came out of their body.

I think Eagle is naughty because he was stealing the nest. He said “shoo you!”

I think Eagle and Baboon are both naughty because they was fighting over the nest.

I think Eagle is very naughty because he just came into Baboons nest. Baboon said “shoo you!” Eagle said “No. You shoo!” then they be friends.
