Art Expo

We worked so hard preparing pieces for the art expo and they turned out pretty good!!

What did we do?

To start with we did some learning about shapes. We then chose our favourite shape to work with.
We placed it on the paper and Mrs Dayal traced around it. We had to make sure some were overlapping. Some children thought hard about where placed their shapes.

First we collaged - we had to rip little pieces of blue paper and glue them onto our shapes, making sure our pieces were nice and small and that we filled in all the white space.

Then we painted our shapes lots of different shades blues. We used dark blue, light blue, sky blue, sparkly blue, greeny blue ... so many blues! We had to remember to hold our brush correctly and use nice strokes not scribble.

After the paint dried we used a cotton bud to dye our shapes. We had to hold the cotton bud correctly too for better control and to make it easier to stay inside the lines.

We then did some more collage with blue crepe paper and/or shiney blue paper.

We used dark blue, light blue and aqua crayons to colour some shapes, again staying in the lines and not leaving white space.

Last was the glitter, our favourite! Mrs Dayal glued our shape and we sprinkled glitter on then tipped it off, leaving our shape twinkley and beautiful!
