Hatching a dinosaur egg

This $2 Shop Dinosaur Egg created a  lot of discussion in the class...

We talked about if it was real, what it felt like, what it smelt like, what type of dinosaur will come out, how can we make it hatch and what other animals lay eggs. We talked about 'instructions' and what types of things have instructions.
Then we waited and waited and waited. The children kept checking every few minutes to see if it had changed! They were very intrigued and excited.
The next day we had a baby stegosaurus!
